Hadabot is a low-cost robot kit for students, software engineers, makers to learn ROS2 and robotics in a hands-on manner. Our robot kits are easy to build, extensible, and customizable. The Hadabot software stack consists of an open source web browser-based coding environment to make the hacking experience frustration-free.

Hadabot ROS2 "Turtle" robot kits are available for purchase!

Since 2020, I have had the pleasure of working with Dr Carlotta Berry, professor of computer engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, to teach various workshops and seminars on robotics using ROS 2 and Hadabot.

In addition to teaching at Rose Hulman, Dr Berry is also the author of a fantastic online course on Mobile Robotics. Her MOOC will teach you about robotics control, sensor paradigms, navigation, planning, localization and much more - a great starting point for anyone interested in learning robotics.

The course challenges the student with lab exercises at various checkpoints in the curriculum.

In a collaborative effort with Dr Berry, I am converting these lab exercises to use ROS 2, implemented on a physical Hadabot Turtle robot, in conjunction with using modern scientific programming tools such as Python, Python Pandas, Jupyter Notebooks - I am Hadabot-ifying (!?!) the labs!

The first Lab exercise on Locomation and Odometry has been "Hadabot-ified" and I welcome you to learn with it along with your Hadabot Turtle kit.

This is an ongoing effort. In addition to Dr Berry's online course, I plan to "Hadabot-ify" many other online robotics courses in the future.

Love to hear your thoughts on this effort. And if you are a professor interested in adding ROS 2 to your curriculum (I create the content for you!), or a student actively learning robotics, please don't hesitate to reach out with questions, guidance, and/or suggestions.

Thanks and happy building / learning!
